Freshwater birds are seen within the Coastal Reserve, but are often seen in flight and on the ground within the land boundaries of The Cape estate, especially around The Cape wetlands (for example, White-faced Heron, the Teals and Pacific Black-Duck).
Freshwater birds are identified in accordance with The Australian Bird Guide. This list has been further grouped into: Swans, Geese and Ducks, the Grebes, and Herons, Spoonbills and Ibis (the long neck, billed, legged waders).
