The Cape is already home to an array of many of the common Australian mammals along with amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates and the remnant vegetation and Bunurong Coastal Reserve provide important protective habitat for all this fauna.
The extensive restoration of the landscape with indigenous plantings is aimed at providing more habitat for these species and attracting new species into the future.
Given the diversity and range of species likely to be observed over time, this section has been structured, for simplicity, to follow the outline of the useful app, Museum Victoria Field Guide to Victorian Fauna, and has been sectionalised into: Mammals, Amphibians, Reptiles and Invertebrates.
