The Cape and adjoining Yallock-Bulluk Marine and Coastal Park, are home to an array of native and introduced animal species. Some are permanent residents, some migratory, some are common, a few are threatened species and several feral. Keep an eye out for them, enjoy their presence, and respect their habitats as you wander around the estate and along the beach!
The list is broken into mammal, reptile and turtle, amphibians and introduced species that have been observed and recorded since August 2019. Invertebrates are not included due to the range and number of insect species.
You can download the list and handy brochure below. It shows where you may encounter the different species, their conservation status, the probability of seeing them, and some tips on protecting and respecting The Cape’s environment.
There is a section on the last page on conservation projects and contact numbers for Wildlife Victoria and Mange Management.
