The Cape and adjoining Yallock-Bulluk Marine and Coastal Park, are home to an array of coastal, freshwater, land and introduced bird species. Some are permanent, some migratory, some are common and some, critically endangered. Enjoy their presence, beauty and sometimes quirky behaviours!
The list currently stands at 148 identified species since it was started in August 2019.
Download the list and handy brochure (Version 10) below: it shows you know where you may encounter the different birds, their status and some tips on protecting and respecting The Cape’s environment.
Thank you to the volunteers who work on our conservation projects and to the many residents of The Cape who have provided their observations to Cape Chatter since August 2019.
If you have any new observations, please report them to David Hartney at dwhartney@bigpond.com or through the Cape Chatter website.
