Whales’ Song … as time goes by

Cape Chatter No. 114 explores the amazing Humpback Whales journey past our coastline through pictures, words and a colouring book in Mandy Leggett’s ‘Whales’ Song’. Also, this month marks the five-year anniversary since the first sods were turned in the creation of the biodiverse water features that dominate The Cape’s landscape and habitat areas. We take a look at how the wetlands and creek line have grown and what special animals have moved in to call them home.

  1. Dave, Good morning squire. I hope/trust this note finds you and Jeannie well and having fun. If the Cape Chatter No 114 is any indication, you are having fun! Mate, Edition 114 is a stunner! It is a great demonstration of what people can do with a vision/objective, a plan, and persistent execution – the latter being critical. By the way, I am aware of the fundamental role that you and Jeannie have played. You should be both proud and pleased. But…the journey is not over…probably will never be over. Carol and I are thrilled at the progress of the Cape’s nature. I think it means more to us in that we have been able to observe it along the way. We arrived back in Sydney on Saturday. ‘Tis good to be back! I think we should model our garden on the Cape…maintenance free, with lots of critters. Alas… We will stay in Sydney for a couple of months. We will travel south…probably around October. Be aware and beware! ‘Til we catch up, all the best. Cheers, Lowie

  2. Thankyou David. I found the before and after photos of the wetland pond areas very inspiring. So much achieved by nature in such a short time, facilitated by The Cape developers.
